- Tool Unit Compact 

  • The SCAPE Grid Scanner Recognition™ is patented view-based recognition method using 2D features from images and 3D features from point clouds. The software recognize parts with very glossy surfaces and generates a 3D point cloud from one single image. 
  • A camera acquires an image of a grid from an LED projector and generates a point cloud from this information.
  • It can be used in different ranges, i.e. working range can be chosen depending on the size of the part to be recognized.
  • Easy installation: The 3D sensor developed by Scape and the camera is mounted inside the SCAPE Tool Unit - Compact and mounted directly on the robot arm. 
  • High flexibility and cost-effective solution: The SCAPE Grid Scanner Recognition™ can scan from many different angles and service as many bins as the robot can reach.

SCAPE Stationary Scanner Recognition™

  • This option is an alternative to the SCAPE Grid Scanner Recognition™ (OP13-08/09) with patented view-based recognition method using 2D features from images and 3D features from point clouds.
  • It consists of a fixed 3D scanner mounted above a bin (sometimes two if the bins are relatively small and not too deep).
  • The scanner can handle very large parts.
  • The main advantages are image high resolution, easy installation and it lowers cycle times up to 30%, because the robot can move while scanning, i.e. the robot is not involved in acquiring image data. 
  • The scanner comes in 3 different sizes corresponding to 3 different scan volumes. All models with 5 MP camera and blue LED projector (460 nm).

SCAPE Sliding Scanner Recognition™

  • The SCAPE Sliding Scanner Recogniotion™ is patented view-based recognition method using 2D features from images and 3D features from point clouds.
  • The hardware consisting of a linear guide mounted above any number of bins (max. total distance of 7950 mm) on which two lasers and a camera is mounted.
  • With the SCAPE Sliding Scanner Recogniotion™ the scanning is conducted quickly leading to fast cycle times.
  • The scanner can handle very large parts. This give high flexibility and lowers cycle times up to 30%, because the robot(s) can move while scanning, i.e. the robot(s) is/are not involved in acquiring image data.
