Scape Technologies Hands in New Patent Applications

Scape Technologies has developed two new flexible grippers optimized for bin-picking. The grippers combine necessary flexibility in the bin with the requirement for high precision delivery to for instance an assembly line, or a machine.

In the bin, these grippers are capable of gripping in constrained areas, such as a bin-corner, and they can pick the parts even when they are partially overlapped by other parts. The grippers can optionally also be used for precision delivery in which case the grippers change properties on-the-fly, i.e. during run-time, so they are optimal for precision delivery. 

The new grippers give higher flexibility and stability in handling objects, that previously was not possible to pick automatically. 

Patent applications on flexible gripper technology have been filed.
