Automated polishing of car body defects with the SCAPE Grid Scanner

Scape Technologies always strives to optimize our technology and push the limits of our systems for improving the intuitive and user-friendly operation of the SCAPE Bin-Picker solution.

In a new project in the Chinese car industry, have now implemented our SCAPE Grid Scanner as a vision system for inspecting car bodies after the polishing process to detect possible impurities or defects that need to be re-polished. The system works by detecting a mark that a worker leaves around areas that need to be polished again and then automatically polishes them again. The system is now running in production and has already gathered much interest from customers with similar use cases.
